My QTH in the Kettle Moraine State Forest
K9VHF home QTH October 2003
Pictured above is My home QTH located in the Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern unit. This area was subdivided many years ago and is surrounded on 3 sides by State Forest land. There is thousands of acres of hunting, hiking, and horse trails, all open to the public. I am lucky enough to be able to see it out my living room window, with wildlife frequently visiting my 1.25 acre wooded lot.
For equipment I use the FT-1000MP Mark-V with the FTV-1000 transverter on 6 and HF. For 144 and 432 I use 2 FT-847's. On 222 and 1296 I run an FT-736R.
Amplifiers for 6, 2, and 432 are the big TE Sytems bricks. On 222 I'm running a 130 watt Mirage brick.
For the Antenna's I run the 6M7JHV at 53'on 6, 719B at 60' on 432 and a 17B2 at 65' on 2 meters. Also running stacked HO loops at 70' On 222 2x10 element M2's at 50' and 2x22 element 1296 antennas at 62'
For back up I use a modified 3 element for 6 meters and a HO loop for 6 also. An AR-270B for 2/440 FM, and also mounted are 2 scanner antenna's and a Wilson WV-1A trap vertical for 10-40.
